Telraam was recently used to support a project in Washington State, USA, to monitor pedestrian and cycle activity on a major road that was once a highway as part of a project to develop safer pedestrian crossings infrastructure. The continuous monitoring that was set up resulted in some unexpected discoveries.

Today, Telraam won the 'Smart Pedal Pitch' at the Velo-City Conference in Leipzig. This is an annual international competition for the most innovative and market-ready technology to shape the future of bicycle mobility in cities. Telraam won the final from Northern Irish company See.Sense and Austrian company Velovio. The prize includes the roll-out of a mobility project in the city of Leipzig worth 17,000€.

The Limburg municipality's Municipal Schools Plan, for instance, aims to design school environments on child-size and to improve road safety on the main routes to and from local schools. Eventually, all schools in the municipality should be safe enough so that parents and children can cycle and walk to school carefree.

There is always a lot going on behind the scenes of Telraam that is not immediately visible for our users. As you might have read in our 'Who is Who' already, some of us are working on improving the IT architecture to make sure the servers and APIs are always up for the task, while others are busy with maintaining and growing the Telraam family by working with the interested citizens and various levels of governments, with work ranging from writing technical business proposals to providing a dedicated helpdesk to resolve any potential questions coming from current and future Telraam users.
